We do love stats! The following comes from a recent study conducted by J.D Power and Associates. The study, called the 2011 Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS), focused specifically on 2008 model year vehicles. Here’s some of what they found:
“Highlights from J.D. Power and Associates’ VDS include:
- Toyota and Lexus received seven highest ranking awards – more than any other brand.
- The Tundra full-size pickup topped its segment for the sixth year in a row, while the Prius mid-size gas-electric hybrid sedan, 4Runner midsize Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), Sienna midsize van, and Tacoma pickup truck each topped their respective segments.
- The Lexus RX luxury sport utility vehicle (Total) ranked highest in its segment; midsize premium crossover/SUV.
- Ten other Toyota, Scion and Lexus models ranked in the top three of their segment including Toyota Yaris sub-compact (Total), Toyota Matrix cross-over utility vehicle (CUV), Toyota RAV4 compact SUV, Toyota Solara midsize coupe, Toyota Sequoia full-size SUV, Scion tC sports coupe, Lexus GS luxury sport (Total), LS luxury sedan (Total), GX 470 luxury utility vehicle, and Lexus ES 350 entry luxury sedan.

- Seventeen Toyota, Scion and Lexus vehicles were named “most reliable” of which 12 made the “recommended” list, more in both categories than any other automaker, by a leading national consumer publication.
- Lexus owner loyalty remains the highest among luxury brands, according to internal studies.
- Eight Toyota, Scion and Lexus vehicles (Avalon, Corolla, Venza, Highlander, Sienna, RX, tC, & xB) received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) 2011 Top Safety Pick Award.”

In a recent article released by Toyota, the vice president ad general manager of Toyota Division for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A Inc. was quoted to have said, “For three consecutive years, people have purchased more Toyota vehicles than any other brand.”
The Camry, Corolla, RAV4, Prius and Tacoma have all held their own and continue to be the top Toyotas sought out and found on the road today. From the quality of the Camry to the fuel-efficiency of the Prius, Toyota remains the brand that consumers think of first. As Toyota launches into its “#1 for a Reason” campaign, they can count on Jaffarian Automotive Group to continue to proudly represent and support the brand.
Last week Forbes magazine came out with a list of “10 Cars That Will Make It Past 200,000 Miles” and we are proud to see and report that HALF of that list was comprised of Toyota and Lexus vehicles! Data and results were compiled from surveys conducted by Consumer Reports. Amongst other vehicles like Porche and Sedans, consumers reviewed Toyota vehicles to be incredibly dependable in the long run.
“‘Toyotas are very reliable, they still perform very well’ despite the massive recalls some models suffered earlier this year, says David Champion, the senior director of auto testing at Consumer Reports. ‘They’re quiet; they’re comfortable. The people who have them generally really like the vehicle.’”
Toyota’s Yaris, Sienna, FJ Cruiser and Tundra (V-6) were in the company of the Ford Fusion Hybrid, Ford Flex, Honda CR-V, Acura RL and Porsche Boxster on Forbes‘ list of ”Cars That Will Make It Past 200,000 Miles.”

“Good news for Toyota: Generation Y car buyers – those born since 1983 – are trending toward the same brands as their Baby Boomer parents, according to AutoPacific. The automotive research firm said Toyota is the top brand among these young car buyers, followed by Honda and Ford. Chevrolet and Nissan round out the top five on the list.”
